A Weekend with Friends

A couple of weeks ago, we packed up the car and headed to see our good friends, the Wrights.  I have been friends with Natalie for around 17 years. Wow! That's kind of crazy, but we met when I was in 5th grade. Natalie is a year older than me and we went to different schools (eventually she moved to a different state), but we were really good friends from church.  Our families (plus my aunt & uncle until they moved) and sometimes some other families went out to lunch almost every week after church (or so it seemed). We've been to each other's graduations, in each other's weddings, and now our babies get to be friends too!

We had about a 4 1/2 hour drive to their home in Kansas, and even though little man only slept about 45 minutes in the car (during the first hour), the trip went well.  When we arrived Friday night, we just hung out and the kids enjoyed Cooper's birthday present from Leah: a ball pit!

On Saturday, Natalie had a friend doing a mini photo shoot and invited Cooper along for some pictures. The photographer took pictures of Cooper and Leah separately and then some together too. We didn't take any pictures during that, but took some of the two of them playing together afterwards.

We then headed back to the Wright's house for nap time and lunch.  We wanted the kiddos to get some rest because the rest of the day was going to be busy.  After the break, we drove to a nearby corn maze.

After mastering the corn maze twice, giving the kids a chance to run around, and attempting to take more pictures, we drove back to their house for a quick outfit change into Halloween costumes.  Their town was having a trunk-or-treat downtown...and we had the cutest Tinkerbell and duck around!

And a whole day of fun ended with bath time, followed by bed time!  And of course, bath time ended with both of them crying!  Leah didn't like when I washed her hair (and wanted her mommy) and Cooper got mad when I took away the bath crayons (since they don't belong in the mouth). Fun, fun!
We watched sports the rest of the night....Tigers big double overtime loss at homecoming to South Carolina and the Cardinals crazy win in the World Series because of raised legs at third base.  Crazy sports night!

We left on Sunday morning to travel back to Kansas City for meetings.  We had so much fun with the Wrights and wish we saw them more often!  We are at least closer than when we lived in Cape...that's for sure!  Thanks to our great hosts for a wonderful weekend!

More pictures....always need more pictures....

(Blurry...but a cute picture) He loves his daddy!

Thanks for reading!
