-Height and Weight: Hudson is GROWING!!! Our little dude has gained 11 ounces in the past four weeks, which is awesome considering he only gained about 10 ounces in the previous three months combined. Our pediatrician is pleased with his growth. Cooper really started to gain weight between 8-12 months, so hopefully Hudson will follow suit and this is just the beginning.
-He is still wearing a size 2 diaper and 9 month clothing. It's been nice to be able to use some of our summer clothes. Anything over 70 degrees, and we are in rompers or shorts! We are finishing up a pack of diapers and then I plan to move up to size 3. The size 2 still fits, but it's really full in the mornings and often times he has leaked out.
-Hudson also has two new teeth! It took a while for them to push through the gums and we are waiting on two more that are SOOO close. His top left lateral incisor came through a couple of weeks ago (on a Wednesday) followed by the top left central incisor two days later on Friday. I think the other central incisor will be next. So if you aren't familiar with 'teeth names', when you are looking at him and the top four middle teeth, he has the two on the right. So that makes tooth #3 and #4.
-He takes 2-3 naps each day....once in the morning, once in the afternoon, and sometimes a cat nap in the evening. He usually goes to bed sometime between 8-8:30pm and wakes up sometime between 7:30-8:00am.
-He is nursing four times a day (wake up, before lunch, late afternoon, and bedtime). He drinks about 3-4 ounces of pear juice most days. He eats food three times a day. He loves 'snack' foods, like puffs, yogurt bites, and mum mums. He has been good to try new foods, but doesn't always care for them. He will usually give something about three bites before he starts to refuse or let it fall out of his mouth. The only real table food that he likes so far is bread! He likes pancakes and rolls, which his daddy says he wouldn't be a Barb if he didn't like bread ;)
-Hudson crawls and can get wherever he wants to go. He loves to make the trip down the hallway and join Cooper playing at the train table. Cooper's train table is probably his favorite place to pull up. Hudson just wants to play trains and be in on the action too....and thankfully, Cooper wants him there. We lowered his crib to the lowest setting, after I walked in one day and found him pulled up and standing in his crib. Needless to say, Eric lowered it that night!
-He is still a growler and talks about dadadadada all day long. He has started to make some new sounds too. He loves to wave hi/bye and loves to play peek-a-boo. He generally will pull his onesie or whatever clothing when I'm changing his diaper over his face to play peek-a-boo. He still loves bath time with brother and probably laughs most often at Cooper (or from being tickled!) One of his newest tricks is to give kisses when you ask. But be warned--they are open-mouth kisses!
-And of course, we still hear the most comments about his HAIR!!! (followed by his smile) We don't know what to do with his hair. We've talked about cutting it, but I feel like it will just be shorter and stick up all over (like where it was a few months ago).
-Some firsts: swinging (which he liked for about 10 minutes), drinking pear juice (to soften the bowels), and riding in the shopping cart.
We are celebrating this month that Hudson has gained some weight! He really eats well and is definitely wanting to eat more....so we hope there is big growth by his one year appointment, which is less than two months away! We'll keep adding in the butter for you, buddy! We love you Hudson!
