(I wrote this post back at the end of July...and just realized it never posted)
My parents gave us (my family and my brother's family) all season passes to Silver Dollar City (SDC) last year for Christmas. We had season passes throughout childhood and my parents have continued to have season passes and make several trips to SDC each year. I really like SDC. It's a fun, family friendly amusement park. If you make at least two trips during the year, it is a better deal to get season passes than buying day passes...and we thought we would be able to make it at least once during the spring/summer and once during the Christmas season. Much to our surprise, we have already used our passes three times! Back in June, our team from work went to Branson for a conference and we spent a day at SDC. We got there right at opening and stayed until about 2:30. Cooper is at the age where he really enjoyed it. Although there was crying on several different rides, he always recovered quickly and then told us how much he enjoyed it. "I liked it!!" Hilarious. (This is similar to a couple of weeks ago when he puked up his one bite of broccoli at dinner, and then told me in the bathtub, "I like my broccoli!"
We spent most of our time in the new Fireman's Landing and the other children's area, Grand Exposition.

Last week, we went with my family to SDC again.

This was one of Cooper's favorite places! It is called Firefighters Fire Drill and you get to play with all these foam balls, cannons, pumpers, etc. We played there for a long time!

Eric and I went back the next night by ourselves for Moonlight Madness. For two weeks, SDC is staying open later than normal (until 10:00) and then for the two Saturdays during those weeks, they are staying open until midnight. My parents stayed with the boys while they went down for bed. So we got to the park about 8:30 and stayed until a little after 11:00. It was fun to ride roller coasters, something we didn't get to do during the days with the boys.
