Cooper just had his 15 month appointment today, so I thought I would do a little update post on him....mostly because I cannot even believe how much he has grown!
Okay, let's look back at little Cooper
 |
| 6 months--and at 2% weight on the charts |
 |
| 9 months--when we moved to JC--11% |
 |
| 15 month old! |
Our doctor came in and said, "well, he's shot up in the growth charts". He was 55% for both height and weight at his one-year appointment. Today, he was 25 pounds (which is 76%) and 32 inches (77%). The doctor said he isn't getting fat because he's growing just as much in height. And his head....well it's grown a little too. Out of 100 boys his age, there is only ONE with a bigger head :) That's right, 99%.
Our doctor thinks he is growing great...and developing well too! From our short time there, he thought he communicated well (using words), followed directions, walked well, and was impressed by all of his teeth. He has two of his cuspids (canines) in and the other two are at least part of the way through. That only leaves his two-year molars. Our doctor also mentioned that Cooper has a slight yellow color to his face, which isn't jaundice, but just from eating vegetables. To be honest, we hadn't noticed anything! We had a great check-up and we are thankful!

A few more things about our 15-month old:
-Cooper still has a squeal...and it usually comes with impatience or frustration. We are trying to work on asking for help (or whatever he is wanting) instead of screaming. I think it's getting better, but there are still times when the squeal comes first, followed by "hep, hep" (help, help) or "peas" (please)
-Cooper is a busy boy! He hardly stops moving. I think he spends most of the day just pacing around the living room, picking up one thing and then moving on to the next. He loves to carry little objects around for a LONG time (like chapstick).
-Cooper is still a great eater. He loves breakfast sausage, grapes, bananas, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, pancakes, and will really eat most things. He has started to refuse eggs sometimes and gets picky on chicken.
-He loves walking around, but can be a bit clumsy when he tries to run too fast or starts looking around/backwards.
-He still does a little jig when music comes on. The boy loves dancing.
-And possibly my favorite thing that he says is "up ga" which is "thank you". I guess that's the best he can say it right now, and it's adorable.
We love you Cooper boy!
How adorable!! Glad he's growing up great!
