Hudson- 5 months

A few days ago, Hudson turned 5 months old!  We don't have a doctor's appointment this month, but here are some updates about him.

• He is wearing 3-6 month clothes and size 2 diaper.
• I tried to weigh with him yesterday, and he weighs maybe somewhere around 14 1/2 pounds.
• He is still exclusively breastfed and we haven't done any food yet.  It's kind of crazy to me because Cooper was already eating cereal, fruit, and was starting veggies at this point.  Our pediatrician here said we should wait until 6 months, so that's what we are doing.
• We are still swaddling at night and for nap times.  He is almost too big for his swaddles, but I'm nervous about our mediocre sleeper getting worse without the swaddle.  He hasn't rolled over from his back yet--so we're still using the swaddle.
• Sleep has gotten better over the past week or so.  We eventually just turned the video monitor off in our room, so we wouldn't hear every little noise and whine. The past few nights, Hudson has been going to bed around 9:30.  I usually hear him crying around 4:30-5:00, feed him, and then he goes back down until I wake him up at 8:00.
• He loves to put EVERYTHING in his mouth and he has gotten really good at grabbing for things and holding on to little toys.  He still loves his feet and to get them (or just his socks) into his mouth too.
• Hudson has been a pretty easy baby.  He may not sleep as well as we'd like, but I know that it's better than a lot of babies and that it will pass.  We are on the lookout for teeth, since Cooper had two by this point, we figured Hudson might too.  We are quickly learning that they are different though.
• He loves bath time and anytime you look, talk, or smile at him.  He still has the biggest, open-mouth smile and loves to coo and make noises.  He giggles when you tickle his neck, play peek-a-boo, or sometimes for just looking at him.   We also just started doing bath time with the boys together....saves time and they both seem to enjoy it!

Time just keeps flying.  I know the next couple of months will be quick because of the holidays.  Keep growing little man!  We love watching you explore and learn.
